Getting started

From zero to your first daily rank fetch in under 10 minutes.

This guide walks you from sign-up to your first day of tracking data.

1. Create your account

Visit app.ranksonar.io/sign-up and sign up with your email. You'll be in your workspace within 30 seconds — no email confirmation step (we use one-time magic links instead).

You're starting on a 14-day free trial of Pro. No credit card required. You can downgrade to Solo or upgrade to Studio anytime.

2. Add your first app

You'll land on the onboarding flow. Paste your Apple App Store or Google Play URL in step 2. Examples:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/your-app/id1234567890
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.yourcompany.app

We'll fetch your app's metadata (name, icon, description, screenshots) within ~2 seconds.

3. Review AI-suggested keywords and competitors

Step 3 of onboarding shows you ~20 AI-suggested keywords and ~10 AI-suggested competitors based on your app's metadata and category. Tap any to remove. You can add more from the dashboard later.

4. Wait for your first rank fetch

Click "Start tracking" and you'll land on the dashboard. Your first rank fetch runs immediately and typically completes within 5-10 minutes (depending on how many keywords you confirmed).

5. Explore the data

Once the first fetch completes:

  • Dashboard — overall health metrics
  • Apps → [your app] → Keywords — the Keyword Optimization table with per-keyword rank, chance score, search volume, and the top 3 ranking apps
  • Apps → [your app] → Rankings — distribution chart of your tracked keywords across rank bands
  • Apps → [your app] → Competitors — your tracked competitors with rank comparisons

6. Configure alerts

Visit Alerts → Preferences to enable email digests, Slack alerts (Pro+), and push notifications. Defaults: weekly digest on, daily digest off.

7. Connect App Store Connect (optional)

Visit Integrations → App Store Connect and upload your .p8 API key to unlock own-app downloads, revenue, and conversion-rate widgets. Same for Integrations → Google Play Console with a service account JSON.
