Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Rank Sonar (the “Service”), you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@ranksonar.io if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. Subscription & billing

The Service is offered on a subscription basis with monthly and annual options. Web subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Mobile in-app subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and managed via RevenueCat.

  • Free trial. The 14-day Pro trial does not require a credit card. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your workspace downgrades to read-only; your data is retained for 90 days in case you reactivate.
  • Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. Cancel anytime in Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period (no proration on annual plans).
  • Refunds. Monthly plans: no refunds for partial months. Annual plans: pro-rated refund for unused months within 30 days of renewal. Contact billing@ranksonar.io.
  • Price changes.We will give 30 days' notice before any price increase. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.
  • Failed payments. If a charge fails, your account moves to a past-due state. We will retry for 14 days; if payment is not resolved, the account is downgraded to a read-only state.

3. Data sources & intellectual property

Rank Sonar fetches publicly-available metadata from the Apple App Store and Google Play to provide the Service. We do not redistribute Apple or Google's proprietary data. App icons and screenshots displayed in the Service belong to their respective developers and are shown under fair-use principles for analysis purposes.

Your data is yours. You retain all rights to the apps, keywords, competitors, and configurations you enter. You grant us a non-exclusive license to process this data solely to provide the Service to you.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Resell or redistribute Rank Sonar data without a written agreement.
  • Use the Service to scrape data outside its intended purpose (e.g., as a generic proxy service).
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the underlying source code.
  • Impersonate another person or workspace.
  • Use the Service to violate any law, including export controls and sanctions.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email, even via Rank Sonar's digest functionality (digests are intended for the workspace owner and invited members only).
  • Exceed the rate limits documented in the API reference.

Violations may result in account suspension or termination. Repeat or severe violations may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

5. Service availability

We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee it. The Service may be unavailable during scheduled maintenance, due to third-party outages (Supabase, Vercel, App Store data sources), or for other reasons outside our control. We do not credit downtime against subscription fees on standard plans.

6. Third-party integrations

When you connect a third-party service (App Store Connect, Google Play Console, Slack, etc.), you authorize us to access that service on your behalf using the credentials or OAuth scopes you provide. We store credentials encrypted at rest. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms.

7. AI-generated content

Rank Sonar uses Anthropic's Claude models to generate insights and ASO Copilot recommendations. AI outputs are suggestions, not facts. You are responsible for evaluating their accuracy before applying them to your live App Store metadata. We disclaim liability for outcomes resulting from following AI suggestions.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE DATA RETRIEVED FROM APP STORES IS COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RANK SONAR'S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rank Sonar from any claim arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these terms or applicable law, including misuse of the API.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a manner that risks our infrastructure or other customers. On termination, your data is retained for 90 days and then deleted.

12. Changes to the Service or terms

We may modify the Service or these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. You waive any objection to venue in those courts.
