Metadata rejection
When Apple or Google rejects your app submission for keyword stuffing, misleading copy, or prohibited content.
Both stores manually review every metadata change in addition to the binary. Common rejection reasons include keyword stuffing the app name (e.g., 'Recipes - Meal Planner Cooking Food App'), references to competitors by name, mentions of pricing in screenshots, and superlative claims without substantiation ('#1 app for X'). Rejections delay your release by 24-72 hours per round. The pattern: keep names brand-led, save keywords for the keyword field (Apple) and description (Google), and avoid mentioning competitors.
